Pie crust was on sale at the store for $1.50.
Made Better Homes and Gardens blueberry pie filling, had an excuse to use the "Heart Pocket Pie Crimper" I got in the clearance bin at Pavilions after last Valentines Day.
Finally.
I LOVE hearts and Valentines day stuff and I always think I will use it all year round and then I never do...
Pretty good! Filling wasn't too sweet. I will do this again very soon.
I need to work out my own crust. I shouldn't be buying crust when it's so simple to make. So, that's next.
Here's what happens when you over fill these things:

Sugar, Sugar
Lower right corner says:
"Note to Mothers: Exhaustion may be dangerous –
especially to children who haven’t learned to avoid it by pacing
themselves. Exhaustion opens the door a little wider to bugs and
ailments that are always lying in wait. Sugar puts back energy fast –
offsets exhaustion. Synthetic sweeteners put back nothing. Energy is the
first requirement of life. Play safe with your young ones – make sure
they get sugar every day."

Lemon poppy seed
Last bite of the lemon poppy seed bread I made this week.
Lesson learned in this recipe? The reason you "zest" lemons with a grater is because simply chopping the rind creates hard, bitter chunks in your bread.
I need a new grater or an actual zester. The small hand held one I have is dull cheap crap and the stand up one I have was my mother's and is 30 years old...can it be sharpened I wonder?
